About this Event

Vivien is a local author and freelance writer, living in Uxbridge. She is a past winner of the annual Mail on Sunday ‘Best Opening to a Novel’ competition, beating more than 5000 others to the prize, and reached the shortlist again three years later. She has also had around 170 short stories and 250 articles published in a variety of U.K. magazines.

Vivien has written eight women’s contemporary novels, all commercially published in either paperback or e-book formats. She is a fellow of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists (SWWJ), a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association (RNA) and a reader for its New Writers Scheme. She is also a creative writing tutor, previously teaching Adult Education creative writing classes for the London Borough of Hillingdon, and more recently running courses at the Swanwick Writers Summer School in Derbyshire.

Away from writing, Vivien enjoys watching and occasionally taking part in TV quiz shows, reading and reviewing women’s fiction, spending time with her six grandchildren, and the challenge of both solving and compiling cryptic crosswords – the trickier the better.

Date: Sunday 5th October

Time: 3 pm to 5 pm
